I wrote this song for my niece Rachael to sing.
I wanted to create a groove that she could
really improvise over. I hope she will record
it in the future. The lyrics were written to
reflect her relationship with her boyfriend.
Borrowing Memories

The guitar, cello and flute help to create the quiet,
reflective and ultimately sad mood of this song
about trying to replace one's own bad memories
with someone else's good ones.
(Time Keeps) Slippin' Through My Hands

4:51
I wanted to write a song about how I felt about
getting older, watching opportunities slip away,
watching a younger generation make the same
mistakes my generation made, not having learned
anything from us. My favorite line in the lyric is:
"I'll just keep on trying to leave something that
will endure."
Give Me Time

4:43
This optimistic love song is about asking for time
to prove how strong love can be. I wanted to create
a "wall of sound" sequenced background for this
melody. The modulations were inspired by Jimmy
Webb's book Tunesmith.
Leave Our Love Behind

My brother Dave Robinson plays the guitar
tracks on this tune. I wrote this song about
dealing with losing a love you thought would
last a lifetime.

My nephew Jon and I love to eat sushi
together when he comes to New York
so I wrote this song for him.
Nothing But You

This tune started out as a series of simple guitar
chords and a kick drum. I enjoyed layering
the many textures of this romantic drone-like
chord sequence.
You Were My Miracle

I wrote this little groove tune about trying to
find an illusive lost love while wandering
through empty streets with a broken heart.
It doesn't get any sadder than that.
A Month Of Mondays

Rich wrote the lyrics to this tune back in 1982.
I like the premise and updated the tune this year.
You Have My Heart

The lyrics of this song are based on a true
experience I had meeting an old flame on
the corner of 57th Street and Fifth Avenue
in New York City. As painful as this song is
it is one of my most truthful songs.
Spider Creek Road

4:19
This song was written for my mother
(Joann Robinson). I changed the name of an
actual road near Lilly Chapel, Ohio where I
grew up from Possum Run Road to the more
mellifluous "Spider Creek Road." The lyrics "houses
in a row" is based on hearing my mother singing
"little boxes made out of ticky-tacky" in my youth.
You Were There

I wrote this song one morning while watching the
morning sun move across the parquet floor in my
apartment. This songs has a pretty catchy hook.
Everywhere You Go

My brother Bob wrote this beautiful ballad and
sent it to me. I started writing the lyrics immediately
because they just flowed out. I think it is one of his
most beautiful and moving tunes. Bob plays keyboards
and strings on this arrangement.
Thanks
This CD is dedicated to my mother, Joann Robinson and to my father, Rev. Robert
Robinson. Thanks to my brothers Dave Robinson in Arizona, who played fabulous
guitar on Leave Our Love Behind, and Bob Robinson in Gig Harbor, Washington,
who wrote the beautiful melody to Everywhere You Go. Love to my husband Jack.
